Put balance into your life to be happy and healthy.
I have followed Jan Tilley for several years, and this book exemplifies the reasons why. Though she is a respected dietitian/nutritionist, she is the first to tell you that diet alone will not be enough to maintain good health. You must have a balance of a good diet and a good exercise plan. This book is not just about eating the right way; it’s about living life the right way. Jan focuses on the importance of fighting inflammation which is the root cause of most of the diseases and problems we suffer within our bodies. She shares lots of easy-to-follow recipes that can be considered anti-inflammatory, with each one listing calories and nutritional values. If we can reduce inflammation through diet and exercise, we can live healthy and active lives. What can possibly be better than that? I love this book and would recommend it to everyone as a manual to live by. – Linda E.

Great book for anyone including new mommies!
As a junk food/semi nutritious individual who is trying to eat better this book was great for understanding how food is medicine. I was happy to learn that the information provided in the book has been thoroughly researched- I have read to many “how to books” that lacked research that I could trust. The recipes are easy and delicious for someone like me how has relied on eating cereal and quick meals. Great book- I highly recommended for new mommies that are trying to eat better- a bonus is the tips for better sleeping. These days with a newborn sleep is SOOOOO important and this book really helps. Also, utilize the checklist- they are great. – A.B.

I will eat well to be well!
This book gives great information about how food is medicine but gives wonderful tips on how to get better sleep as it is very important to my health. The book has thoughtful information on stress management. The information is research based so I can trust the advice. I love the recipes as they are quick-to-fix, healthy and so delicious. The ecipes have shown me new ways to cook food I like and are good for me. The author has an obvious passion for helping the readers find their personal path to wellness. This makes sense, it’s not another diet. I love the reasoning behind eating protein every three hours, I can do that and I do! The checklists makes this plan easy to understand and implement into my lifestyle. – Char

You Are What You Eat!
Whether your goal is to avoid disease and sustain good health, to lose weight, or to insure that your family eats a healthy diet, registered dietitian Jan Tilley wants to make it easy for you. In Tilley’s new book you will learn how to make wise choices in your food selection based upon you and your family’s special needs and requirements. Tilley cites medical evidence that concludes that chronic inflammation in our bodies leads to ill health. She provides room in her book for readers to make notations and she explains why inflammation is so harmful. This book contains healthy, delicious, and easy-to-make recipes. There are many beautiful color photos of her food. The final portion of the book helps the reader create a personal anti-inflammatory plan. Tilley says that in her years of practice as a dietitian she realized that there simply had to be more we could do to get out in front of chronic disease. She set this out as a challenge to her team of professionals and they spent countless hours researching the data on anti-inflammatory foods and their positive impact on long-term health. From these findings, she designed four easy-to-prevent steps toward a practical approach to making anti-inflammatory work for all. This is a wonderful book to get you on track to achieving a healthy life. – Anita Belles Porterfield
