Workplace Wellness
Whether you have 2 or 2000+ employees, JTA works with companies of all sizes in San Antonio to create health and wellness programs designed to reduce health care costs by improving productivity, employee morale, and retention.
Our Philosophy
At JTA Wellness, we believe the journey to wellness centers around making healthy choices in how you fuel and train your body. Our corporate definition of ‘healthy’ eating could really be defined as ‘balanced’ eating. The goal of balanced eating is to keep blood sugar and energy levels stable by staying fueled, not hungry, throughout the day.
Clients come to us in all sizes and shapes and in varying degrees of health and fitness. We pride ourselves in meeting our clients at their point of need. We teach that small changes can bring BIG results. We believe “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
Why is Wellness Important?
According to the World Health Organization, 80% of all cardiovascular disease, stroke, and Type 2 diabetes could be prevented if we ate healthier, were more physically active, and stopped using tobacco.
At JTA, we believe that food is medicine. It has an incredible power to heal, repair, and maximize human potential.
JTA Workplace Wellness Program
The JTA Workplace Wellness Program package may include any or all of the following components:
Our energetic, interactive presentations are often used as a kick-off to the wellness program to inspire participation and encourage team building. Choose from thirteen of our most popular topics, ranging in topics from “Live Well, Be Well” to “Eating Healthy in a Fast Food World” to “Know Your Numbers…Move Your Numbers”.
As a company, we are highly experienced in the art of cooking demonstrations and are very aware that often the biggest obstacle people face is a lack of confidence in the kitchen. All presentations include a recipe and education on the selected topic.
Our dietitians hold onsite one-on-one nutrition counseling appointments to assist employees in making small but significant changes that ultimately lead to BIG results.
Whether the goal is to manage a specific diagnosis or meet a certain health objective, creating a supportive group atmosphere allows participants to learn from one another and support each other through the process.
Nicki L. Ortiz, Workplace Wellness Director, would be your personal JTA Wellness Representative. She is committed to assisting you in navigating all the components of a successful program.

A workplace’s culture is largely influenced by its environment. An environmental assessment provides the company with an overview of current nutrition and physical activity practices, and also recommendations for improvement.
Once a week, JTA Wellness publishes an e-newsletter designed to motivate, educate, and inspire readers to pursue health. As a partner in wellness, you will receive permission to use this content as-is or integrated into your own wellness communications.

Testimonial:
J.M. had tried numerous weight loss programs in the past without much success. It wasn’t until her 8-year-old daughter started to gain weight and have stomach issues that she realized a change in her family’s diet needed to be made. In just 2 months, she lost 13.4 lbs and dropped 2 pant sizes! Her husband also lost 14 lbs since the family was preparing healthier dinners and purchasing healthier snacks. J.M. shared tips she learned from the JTA Wellness dietitian with her daughter and after a few months of healthier meals and snacks, her daughter’s stomach issues completely resolved!
