1 (1.5-2 pound) flat iron steak, trimmed of visible fat
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
Fresh cilantro and lime wedges, for garnish
Instructions
In a blender or food processor, blend together marinade ingredients until smooth. Place steak in a 9x13-inch dish and tenderize with a fork (5-10 pokes per side). Pour marinade over the steak. Cover and refrigerate 6-8 hours, or overnight.
Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 400 degrees F). Remove steak from marinade and season with salt, cumin, and chili powder on both sides.
Place steak on grill and sear for 5-6 minutes per side (for medium-rare), or longer depending on desired doneness. Remove from grill and allow to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing into strips.
Serve as desired w/ fresh lime wedges and chopped cilantro.
