Ingredients
  • 12 (100% whole wheat) slider buns
  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 lbs. 93% lean ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 Tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp beef/steak seasoning
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese, cut in half
  • Optional: Oil and sesame seeds
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9x13in. baking dish. Line dish with bottom halves of buns. Set aside tops for later use.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté for 2 mins, until fragrant. Add garlic and sauté 1-2 mins before adding ground beef. Brown meat, breaking it apart with your spoon until meat looks about half-way cooked. Stir in mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoning. Continue cooking until well-browned. Drain any remaining juices.
  3. Distribute meat over bottom buns. Place cheese slices on top of the meat. Bake for 15 mins, or until cheese is melted. Remove from oven, add bun tops, and enjoy! If desired, brush tops with oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds (note: nutrition info does not include these). Return to oven for 10 mins. Remove from oven and enjoy!
