Nicole Harris, MS, RDN, LD, IFNCP
Hey there! My name is Nicole. Before we start working together, I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I am passionate about empowering my clients to become advocates for their own health. In my patient-centered counseling approach, I guide my clients through self-discovery, enabling them to become informed and proactive members of their own healthcare journey, no more “white coat syndrome” here! During each counseling session, I take a holistic approach, not only focusing on nutrition education but also considering the crucial interplay between the mind and body (and yes, spirt) when it comes to making lasting changes. I meet my clients where they are, finding practical ways to integrate health and wellness into their busy lives. My aim is to help my clients live vibrantly by encouraging practical changes that prevent feelings of deprivation and lead to the fulfillment of their desired health goals.
My educational background includes both a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a Master of Science in Nutrition. With 5 years of scientific research experience at some of the nation’s leading research institutes, including the National Institutes of Health and Sanford Burnham Medical Research Institute, I am skilled at translating complex scientific information into easily understandable concepts for my clients. I firmly believe that when patients truly grasp the basic science behind diet and lifestyle changes, they are more likely to commit to and sustain long-term improvements.
I received my nutrition training at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, where the focus was on integrative and functional whole foods nutrition. Here, I was trained to collaborate with an integrative healthcare team, including Naturopathic doctors, as well as Herbal and Chinese medicine practitioners, to provide comprehensive holistic care to all my patients. In 2021, I completed my certification at the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy and now specialize in providing functional nutrition therapy to clients dealing with chronic gastrointestinal issues (such as SIBO/SIFO, GERD, IBS, IBD, and intestinal permeability), autoimmune diseases, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and weight management. My approach to health and wellness brings a unique perspective. My hope and desire to help my clients transition from merely surviving to truly thriving in their body and their lives.
