Blackberry Apple Crisp with Nut Topping

Ingredients
  • 3 Rome apples – cored and sliced ¼ inch thick
  • 1½ cups fresh blackberries
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup plus 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Topping:
  • ⅓ cup rolled oats
  • ⅓ cup whole almonds and pecans, coarsely chopped
  • 3 Tbsp light brown sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 Tbsp butter, softened
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8-by-8-inch glass baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, toss apples, blackberries, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of flour. Scrape filling into baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, toss oats with remaining ½ cup of flour, nuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Add butter and cut into flour mixture.
  4. Sprinkle topping over filling and bake for 35 minutes, until the filling is bubbling and the topping is browned. Let the crisp cool for 10 minutes before serving.
